(July 18)--The Huizhou City Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau announced yesterday that the City’s television exports increased in the first half of 2008, with the export volume reaching 1.8 million units and the export value at US$ 200M, rising by 25% year-on-year. More specifically, the export volume and value of LCD televisions surged by 270% and 200% year-on-year respectively to 220,000 units and US$ 90M. Insiders pointed out that the start of construction on TCL’s LCD module plant and the rapidly rising exports of high-end LCD televisions indicate a shift in Huizhou’s television production structure.
