Sichuan’s Household Appliance Sales in Rural Areas Grow

May 7--According to data on the Household Appliances to Villages campaign carried out by the Ministry of Commerce, Sichuan Province’s sales of household appliances as part of this campaign had exceeded 200,000 units and had reached 246,665 units as of May 4th, including 88,654 units of color televisions, 125,105 units of refrigerators and 32,906 units of mobile phones, generating RMB347M in sales value. Rural households should receive RMB45.116M in subsidies for these purchases, while they actually received RMB23.586M. Sichuan’s sales were 42,381 units lower than Shandong Province’s but 80,269 units higher than Henan Province’s.
